New Hotel Suites Open in Everglades City

October 30, 2020

Everglades City, Fla. – Announcing its grand opening this month is the Everglades Adventures Hotel Suites by Ivey House, the city’s first new hotel to open since 2001.

“We wanted to build a fully modern replacement for the original 1920s Ivey boarding house after it was destroyed by Hurricane Irma in 2017,” says Aashish Patel, lifelong hotelier and owner of six attractions in the Everglades. “We’re excited about the suite-style rooms with modern decor and amenities like a full-size refrigerator and dishwasher. We hope guests looking for longer stays in Everglades City will appreciate the extra comforts.”

The new hotel adds 20 suite-style rooms to the existing capacity at the Ivey House Everglades Adventures Hotel, located next door, and the Everglades City Motel – Everglades Adventures Inn, located a half mile to the south. The three hotels share a front desk and staff.

The new hotel’s opening is the final step in Patel’s reimagining of the Everglades Adventures brand. The name was first used decades ago for kayak tours departing from the Ivey House, formerly owned by David and Sandee Harraden, and acquired by Patel two years ago.

“The thing that connects all of our Everglades attractions—airboats, kayaks, and hotels—is our desire for more people to enjoy the natural wonder of this unique place,” adds Patel.
